Focus groups allow members of the group to interact and influence each other during the discussion and consideration of ideas and perspectives. The methods permit alternative ways of obtaining information from consumers without having to use a survey.

Quantitative Research
Is mostly measuring in numbers and usually obtained through   questionnaires.

Qualitative Research
Is a method that gives more information and is more concerned with the "quality" of the responses than the "quantity". This type of research is conducted through focus groups and interviews with the public. The results help producers understand the needs of their target audience.
